Hazard Center Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Awesome Prizes, Giveaways, Crafts, Refreshments and More
Hazard Center – Mission Valley’s go-to destination shopping center – is celebrating its 25th Anniversary by hosting a fun event for customers, complete with prizes, giveaways, crafts, refreshments and more on Saturday, September 26th, 1 to 3 p.m. The event will happen by the “Pappy” Hazard statue at Hazard Center, located at 7510-7610 Hazard Center Drive San Diego, CA 92108.
Emceed by AJ from Energy 103.7, the event’s selfie contest will allow contestants to win tickets to the world-famous San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Padres and more. And, the first 25 guests to arrive will receive a tote bag filled with a pair of tickets to UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas and a free selfie stick – perfect for getting a leg up on the competition.
Since 2008, Hazard Center has partnered with the San Diego River Park Foundation as a part of its commitment to the community and environment. SDRPF – a 501 (c) (3) organization, focused on creating a better future for the San Diego River – will also be onsite, handing out goodie bags with gift certificates and giveaways from Hazard Center stores to the first 25 people to donate $20 to SDRPF’s “Give a Tree” program. The donation will provide one native tree that will be planted at a park or open space along the nearby San Diego River.
Kids and parents can make colorful, wearable crafts with the Lakeshore Learning Store, and enjoy birthday cake and high-energy music from Energy 103.7.
“This anniversary marks a major milestone in Hazard Center’s 25-year journey,” said Lisa Gualco, Hazard Center’s general manager. “We’re excited to celebrate with the customers who have helped make Hazard Center a success, and look forward to what the next 25 years will bring.”
Hazard Center was founded in 1990 by Roscoe “Pappy” Hazard, whose contracting company helped build many San Diego structures and pave multiple roads. The center is located at the site of Pappy’s old brickyard, which is reflected in the brick design used throughout Hazard Center’s buildings.
Today, statues of Pappy and his son, Bruce Hazard, memorialize the Hazard family at the shopping center.
